At Perth Skin & Laser, although we do offer needle rolling procedures, we find collagen induction by fractional laser treatment much less painful and much more effective.
What is collagen induction therapy?
Collagen induction therapy (CIT) builds the connective tissue in the lower dermal layers of the skin while keeping protective epidermal layers intact. In needle rolling treatments, a handheld roller which has clusters of small needles is used to penetrate the skin, break up old strands of collagen and stimulate the growth of elastin fibers from the deep layers of the dermis to the surface. Because the epidermis is punctured as opposed to being removed it heals very quickly.
However some clients find this method rather painful which is why, although it is a little more expensive, we recommend lasers for collagen induction. Not only is the procedure less invasive but we think you’ll be even more delighted with the results: smoother, thicker, tighter, more evenly toned and younger looking skin. What’s not to love about that?
